Thank you for the information. As already noted on this forum, the consequences are minimal....as long as the "sponsee" doesn't go on welfare. Public housing, food stamps, medicaid???, .... are not considered public charge (Ref USCIS).
If a potential sponsor cannot show enough income to support a family of 4 say, can another sponsor chip in and take half of the burden? In other words, can one have multiple I134s. If so, how is the form completed and what wording should the sponsors put?
Maybe they will discover that there were more winners from people who entered from some IP blocks than others (therefore not fair and random enough), OR, that there were more winners from people who entered during some time of the day than others (therefore not fair and random enough :) ) OR...
Yes. Whne it used to be letter notifications, they would send an address label together with your winning letter and forms. All you needed to do then was peel off the address sticker, put it on an envelpe, put in your forms and bar code and mail them.
Personally, I don't even see the need...
Hi Forumites
If someone has an interview in October, and they fail to make it for the interview (documents and passports not ready), what heppens? Does the person lose their opportunity or they can reschedule it 3 months later? Can they?
I agree with you that it was devastating to annul the results for the 22k ...especially for those that had returned their forms. I have friends that fall into that category.
BTW, how are you fighting this to get reinstated. I thought the fight was over when the judge dismissed the case.
I also have a case similar to yours. I applied for 3 people on the 5th, two were selected and one was not. If we believe their explanation, then there shouldn't have been any selectees on the 6th or any other day for that matter.
I would love to see the code, and hopefully the database type used :)
It must be embarassing for the programmer (and his/her supervisors), to have the world see how lously you code :) :) :)
Possible, but unlikely
I don't know why you keep throwing in this irrelevent example that thas been shown over and over to be inapplicable to this case.
In your example, if the bank offers the public to submit their names for a random drawing and a random winner would be selected to receive...
BTW, where did the 22 000 number come from? DOS? Does it imply then, that the drawing had not yet been completed and they had another 78 000 to go? OR the 22K were just the selectees from the first 2 days?
The problem with secretive processes like this one is that there is little accountability if errors happen, except of course if they are as obvious as this one. If we were using paper applications as in earlier years, this could have happened and NOBODy would have noticed or raise a hoof. Now...
My understanding is that both H.R.399 and H. R. 43 do not have sufficient backing in the House and senate, and as things stand right now, there is NO chance of either getting Senate approval.
Just to help with your grammar a little:
you're = you are
your is NOT the same as you're. So it would be "your country", not "you're country". you're country means "you are country", which, I am certain, is not what you meant.
Well said.
If I may add, not every one of the "winners" need to pay any lawyers. You only need one successful case to establish legal precedence and that's it. Everyone else affected may benefit (or lose) based on the set legal precedence. IMHO, there is nothing to lose for those who are...
First of all, lets have a civil debate. If you display anger and hostilities towards my contributions, however stupid I may be, then, I respectfully step down from debating you. Now tha we understand each other:
Yes, the draw was random (I studied Statistics, and I know what I am talking about...
Graduate studies or undergrad? If you win and decide to go to US, you may be able to transfer some of your credits to most state universities in the US.
Bon chance
