AP renewal now takes more than 6 months and the AP issued is for 1 year. Doesn't make #@$%^&* sense. As soon as you get your AP approval, you need to start preparing the papers for renewal.

Re: oakland sc I did it 12 days early at Oakland in April. My appointment was on a Saturday. At Oakland, If you go on weekdays, there won't be many people and you can just request them to do an early FP. I'm not sure about saturday.

Does you notice say that you have to get your FP done at Oakland? If so, I think you have to do it at Oakland. Correct me if I am wrong. If Oakland, if possible, try to do it on a weekday. I did it at Oakland and I was in and out in 20 minutes.

Probably the delay in 485 may be contributing to outsourcing too. Employers may be thinking that we are high maintainence($$). what with all the money they pay the attorneys for AP, EAD renewals... additional fees for RFEs.

My EAD renewal was approved on 6/3 and I got my card yesterday-- 6/16. You should get your card in a couple of weeks. Per my attorney, you can apply for an IED if you don't receive your card by 7/7. Better to be safe than out of status.
