She can use EAD if she wants, or she can renew H1B The advantage of being H1B is, if there is problem with I-485, she can still work on H1B. But she can only work with current employer. With EAD she can work with any employer.

If your H1-B is still valid, you don\'t need to renew EAD...

Not really... I got stamped yesterday, I have passport valid for 8 months, but they stamped for one year. In fact the officer asked me where is the expiry date on my passport, i showed to him. So he saw that passport is valid for 8 months, but he still stamped for 1 year.

I just called VSC, to find out my application status. She told me it is assigned to officer and it will take another one month or month and half to take a decision.    I had RFE earlier, i don\'t know why they take that much time for my case again. rao
