1. Where did you call to check your FP status ? 2. The FP status is not the same that the name check ... I guess there should be an easier way to check if your name check is pending than sending an email to the FBI (Does somebody know how ?)

I sent a I765 (not e-file, normal mail) for my wife and this triggered our 2nd FP (The FP notice were sent few days after RD of the I765) I'm not sure if there is a way to change something in your file using the INS website ...
