    Passport expiring vs travel

Thanks a_b for the good advice. Unfortunately, for my country getting a new passport via consulate takes 3 months minimum, I did this once before. But I've done some googling and found some unofficial info confirming jk027 point - that passport is not needed to return to US with GC.

    Passport expiring vs travel

Hi jk0274, Thanks for the info, this is very helpful and relieving, but also surprising. May I ask, what is the source of this info (that a GC-holder does not need a valid passport to enter US) -- is this your or your friend's experience, or is there a link to some .gov website? Thanks very...

    Passport expiring vs travel

Re: Thanks guys! I've read that all foreign persons entering US must have their passports valid within next 6 months. And that in many cases airlines will not let you board on the plane if your passport expires in less then 3 months. I am considering to delay the trip to get it renewed here...

    Passport expiring vs travel

Hi fellow, My NIW/AOS got approved recently and I need to travel soon to my home country to visit parent, whom I haven't seen 6 years. The problem is, on the date I plan to return to US my passport will be valid only for 3 months in the future. Is this going to make a problem to enter the US...

    July 2007 NIWs

Thanks niwguru! I don't know if it's the pilot program, but niw & aos got approved on the same day. I am from "rest of the world" so eb2 is current. Happened two weeks ago but still feels unreal - so much effort was put into this. If your application is pending, good luck!

Hi fellows, My NIW & AOS filed in late July 2007 @ TSC got approved two weeks ago. I learned a lot from this forum, and want to thank all the folks for contributing their knowledge & advice.

    July 2007 NIWs

Hi all, I'm trying to get an idea of when my NIW filed in July 2007 @ TSC would be processed. In trackitt there are 38 pending NIWs with RD before 07/31/2007, and it seems ~6-7 cases/month from trackitt are being processed. It seems that at this rate July 2007 filers can expect to wait ~5-6...

    Approval of previously denied I-140.....

Congrats Ludhianvi! I read that thread of yours and very glad for this happy outcome. To your questions. (1) No need to stick with employer, just make sure to continue working in the same field. (2,3) Check I485 online status, is it still pending or denied. If denied, most likely they can't...

New American Innovators Act (Introduced in House)

dnastar - sorry for the naive question, could you please clarify what numerical limitations are referred to here. For I-485 EB categories? What is this special immigrant status. Thanks.

Wife's F1 Out of status -I-20 expired date

I completely agree with faith4you, the best is to talk to international students advisor ASAP and convince them that it is their administrative mistake, and they should state this to USCIS. I think this mistake is not something terrible, but something that has to be corrected by your...

    Change of employer, not job!

Hi Animalia, I dont know the answer to (1), but regarding (2) -- it is good idea to file Eb1a, or Eb2-niw, or both of them, if you believe you qualify. You can file in all three categories if you want: Eb1a, Eb1b (OR), and Niw. Why not file Eb1a and/or NIW now, and after you switch to Dept of...

EB1-OR: Move from University to Industrial Research lab

But drug companies rarely share their research results with scientific community and others, instead they protect their intellectual property via patents. That's why I thought this could be tricky to provide a convincing proof. On the other hand indeed, if they all stop working the nation would...

EB1-OR: Move from University to Industrial Research lab

It is possible, but in case of rfe you will need to be able to proove that you are still working in the national interest. If you will work for a for-profit company it may be not easy.

    Likelyhood of transfer

Gurus, I would much appreciate your opinion/experience... My niw i140 should get processed in few months at TSC. If I move to a state that is under NSC jurisdiction while the case is pending and submit ar11, then upon picking up my case from the shelf shall they go ahead and process it, or...

    LUDs on 3 non-concurrent I-140 NIWs from Dec06/Jan07

Nscagony, i think the approval you mention could still be helpful to that person. As the filing was concurrent, they could get ead/ap (or already did) and use them safely.
