If March bulletin shows that you are current than you can file I-485 in March only.
The time to compile all the documents depends on the individual case and the individual :) But its not too much of an effort.
Retrogression does not affect filed applications
People please correct me if I am wrong. My understanding is that if I-485 has already been filed, retrogression would have no impact!! New applications with PD later than the cut off dates will not be accepted.
Again the same reply. There are no published guidelines. As of Aug 8th, 2005 BCIS was processing EAD cases received around July 19th, 2005. But there still are cases more than a year old that haven't been adjudicated yet.

Most of the I485's filed after 15th Nov. are yet to get their FP notices. There might be some exceptions but most of the people who filed on or after Nov. 15th, 2004 have their applications in the received state.
FP notice for cases filed around Nov. 2004 end

So, should I file for 140/485 in July or wait till my wife comes back as her application depends...
Now my turn to share the good news. Finally got certified yesterday (May 26th, 2004). Our company has had some history of layoffs, but not is last one year.
Thanks to all of you for the constant support and guidance and best wishes.
