    TN - GC with USC

If his TN is expired, he cannot work until he gets EAD. Ignore controlsauce's entire post.

Canadian on valid TN status, accepted new offer, left and returned on new TN, but then reneged on offer. Can I continue working for original employer?

He is allowed to have more than one "current" I-94, as one is needed for each job he has. As long as he did not surrender his old I-94 (which serves primarily as a work authorization rather than simply an entry/departure record) he can continue to work at job #1. Many TNers have more than one...

Canadian on valid TN status, accepted new offer, left and returned on new TN, but then reneged on offer. Can I continue working for original employer?

Don't worry about the online number. if you still have the first I-94 (we are talking about the one for employer A issued thru the I-129 process) you are fine.

    TN - GC with USC

Yes, we know you are married to a USC. All our responses on this thread have taken that into account. That is why you have a problem. You cannot work right now, as of yesterday, and the I-129 will not get you back in status until you take the approval to the border, And it offers no grace...

    TN - GC with USC

Ouch. Since you are now out-of-status, you cannot simply extend your stay with an I-129, as it will not be considered timely filed. . Even if you re-submit 1-129, you will need to leave/re-enter after approval. I would quickly consult a lawyer, to see if the original I-129 submission date is...

TN for Engineering Manager under "Engineer" category

Be aware that TN are not allowed to be people "managers" , but can be project managers . The use of this word, or description of duties being administrative in nature will invite scrutiny and may result in denial. Good read here, by a well-known TN lawyer...

    Company Merger on TN

Any lawyer that the new entity would hire would know that the new entity assumed all rights and responsibilities of the old. We've has this issue presented here dozens of times and the answer (and real-life results) have all been the same: You only need a new TN when the old one is expiring.

    Company Merger on TN

When a company merges, or even buys out the old company -- even changing the name -- the new entity assumes all liabilities and obligations of the old firm, including employment sponsorship. Nothing to be done until renewal.

Travel with TN and approved H1B

Entering on one valid status does not invalidate another. But are you sure you are not already in H1-B status since October 1? Most H1-B approvals for someone already in legal status in US are automatically switched to H1-B on 10/1. Check if there is an I-94 attached to your approval notice.

    TN - GC with USC

.... and don't leave until your AP/EAD is approved. Otherwise you could have to wait outside US for consular processing of spousal visa. Leaving the country on TN, while married to a USC who lives in US, without an AP/EAD can get you locked out

    TN - GC with USC

As bigboy pointed out, unlike I-140 which has special treatment for TNers, I-130 family based petitions do not allow TNers to enter or renew TNs. So you need to 1. Apply for TN extension ASAP. Do not leave the country 2. Wait for approval. Do not leave the country. 3. 60 days after approval...

    New TN - Another Employer

Just a clarification on 4: If you go the I-129 route, since you are in US, you will receive an I-94 with your approval, thus no need to go to the border. A passport stamp is never a requirement -- the I-94 is.

    TN status to H1b

Without I-94 attached, you are free to start H1-B clock when convenient for you. I do not know about the details of the $100K. Ask on an H1-B forum.

    TN status to H1b

That depends. While consular processing has a specific meaning for Green card process, for non-immigrant statuses, it may simply mean that you will get a visa "when needed" at a consulate, the processing of your I-129 is being done completely by USCIS, with no involvement with State department...

    1099 job on TN

They might, but more likely as an employee of the staffing agency. Typically, the petition would be by the staffing agency, not the client, and it would be between you and the agency to determine how you would be remunerated. It would be preferable to not list a specific client at that point, as...

New TN Application and Current TN validity

You are responsible for having a paper copy of each I-94 that is issued when you get a TN. That is your work authorization document. When you leave the border this time, you should have in your possession two I-94s, since you have asked that your first TN not be cancelled.
