Hi,

I am working on TN visa with Company A and do work for Company B(who has a banking client). Now Company B wants to hire me directly.
Do i need to get new TN visa or current TN visa can be used with employer change?

Thanks Nelsona
Company B is from Canada, they are planning to hire me on canadian payroll and travel to usa every week.
Are there many people who do that?Is this TN complicated?

Your TN sponsor must be a US entity. So your US client will need to sponsor you, or if you intend to live in Canada, you might be eligible for B1 business visa.

Its has US entity, its big consulting company. I thought B1 visa is for meetings .I work as an software architect. I am expected to spend around 200 days in a year in USA , as will be in US for work mon-thu every week.

Then you need to be sponsored BY the US entity. As I said, you might be eligible for B1,it is not just for meetings My firm brings down LOTS of engineers working for Cdn firm to work on existing projects, which is allowed on B1. Your big firm's lawyers will need to look into this.

But the point is you can't be sponsored for TN by the Cdn branch.
