Got TN visa for a new job, but the current employer counter-offered

I am a Canadian working for Company A on TN status (expiring in two years), and was offered a job from company B. Got TN status at POE for company B. Now company A made a counter-offer and would transfer me to a different group that I have always wanted to join.

If I accept the counter-offer, do I need to re-apply for a new TN? How do I deal with the TN status with company B? There is no change in TN category whether I stay at A or move to B.

Your current TN is still valid (if you did not hand it back at the border) if you are doing the same job. Other wise you may need a new TN for the new job.
The TN for B simply dies on the vine. Neither you nor the employer need do anything.

Yes, but do you still have your TN for company A? Some applicants mistakenly hand it back at the border when getting the second TN.
