Green card in California, Citizenship in Washington
Folks,
I have received my Green Card while working in California in 2005. I am planning to apply for a US Citizenship in 2010 but now I have moved to Seattle, Washington since 2009.
I don't quite understand this business with district...
I am an LPR since 16th September 2005. I live and work in Washington and my fiance works in Texas on H1B.
We've been seeing each other since October 2008. It has been quite difficult for her to get a job in Washington that will sponsor her H1B. For me, it's been difficult to get a job in Texas...
I am returning to immigrationportal after 4 years now. This forum has been so wonderful that without help of its participants, I wouldn't have received my green-card 4 years back. So I am starting on a journey to file for a citizenship and had few questions.
1. Do processing times differ...
I am sure this is a very common question but I can't find a good answer.
I understand that I being on a GC decide to marry H1B girl, she won't get GC immediately (like it takes 5-6 years). Can she at least get an EAD to work for any employer anywhere in the US?
Much appreciate your...
Ditto !
Kandadude - now all I need to reentry in US is my passport + this GC right ?
no other stamp or document is needed I hope. Any idea if i need Canadian visa
to visit Canada ?
Looks like our cards are ready and mail. It was quite fast considering
we did our biometric only last Friday (today Tuesday). How long does it
take before I get my cards ? Normal postal time within US ?

Hi gc-reqd,
Folks who are talking about doing Biometric and getting a physical card
these days had their 485 approved before retrogression kicked in on 1st of
October. These folks never done Biometric code 2 (photo, signature etc)
before approval. So they have to do it now before their...
I am code2
Hey Kandadude,
I and my wife went to San Jose ASC today and we did code2 (index finger,
photo and signature).
To my surprise I received emails from CIS few minutes back (6:00pm PST):

On October 28...
Thanks Lingeron, good info.
I called 800 numbers two times and both times they told me that my
number is not traceable. I hadn't taken second appointment. But I'll
take one anyway.
If ASC bills CIS based on confirmation number, then what happens to
people who do walk-in biometrics...
As many of you know that I had made a biometric appointment by calling
800 number listed on my 485 approval notice. We got two confirmation
numbers to be taken to San Jose ASC.
I called 800 number just to confirm my appointment. I wanted to do
this because there was a change in procedure...
Lingeron:
Seems to me like you went for I-551 stamping and did Biometric as well.
So do you think that your 19th November appointment is kind of redundant ?
Good luck.
OV
So what's it going to be eh ?
I am going to appear on the day of my appointment with my confirmation
number at San Jose ASC. If they refuse to do Biometric even then, I
won't move from there until they do so. Hopefully this time the supervisor
will talk to me.
Folks -- tell me your POA ?
