Since you sent the forms so late you will be scheduled for the interview after they process your forms. Probably in November, or December.

It is a lottery because you win a green card. They won't give you any money or support, you have to pay them for the green card and prove you can support yourself and your family. If you can't too bad, there are another 50.000 people who can't wait to show they can.
