They said (in the second link memo above) that they would still issue U visa stickers until all the stock is used up and so that probably is why you still got one.
Read these two links from Indian consulates in the US. You should be fine just going with your current passport and your old OCI booklet:

These apply to your situation directly:
"3. From now on, registered OCI cardholders would carry their valid...
No probs, canadian1. If you are given any kind of grief about not transferring the OCI to the new passports, just say you are planning to do that upon return to Canada. Anyway do post your India experience after your trip. Have fun!
I have friends who are visiting India right now with their minor children. They have never transferred their children's OCIs from their children's very first US passports. One child is on her third passport. Anyway, they had no issues at immigration. Just take the current US passport, old US...
It's a question for my friend actually who got his PAN card when he was an Indian citizen. He is now a Canadian citizen and was wondering what he needed to do to get his PAN card record updated. Does he need to do something? I suspect so but if so, what exactly?

Your passport number is your US passport number (not your old India one) and the online registration number is the generated number that appears at the top of your OCI application form just above the signature box and to the left of the passport photo box (should be of the format USANIXXXXXXX...
You naturalized in 2007 but your Indian passport expires in 2020? Doesn't that mean you renewed your Indian passport in 2010 after you had already naturalized? You will have bigger penalties if this is the case.
I have several USC friends living in Europe and Asia and discussion around this topic has come up before. Consistently, they all file their tax returns.
As long as you don't owe taxes, I don't think there is any major issue but it would be a pain to deal with an audit especially if you haven't filed your tax returns. All I was saying is that, as a USC, you have a responsibility to file your annual tax returns from abroad even if you know you...
They won't owe taxes if they make below the threshold but they are not exempt from FILING annual tax returns. How else will the US Govt know whether these USCs are exempt from any paying Uncle Sam any income taxes?
