Longest pending name check
Hi,
I was just wondering where I stand in the line for pending namechecks now. Have USCIS been clearing the backlog as they claimed in their press release in April? I am just getting to the end of my 4th year of waiting now and wonder whether there are many others...
I would also contact my congressperson and ask to speak to the immigration liaison there. Again there are no guarantees but sometimes they are able to persuade people at CIS to move cases forwards in the line. All you can do is keep trying. I was out of an I765 for 2 months last year so I know...
As someone who was without a valid I765 for a couple of months last year I can tell you that she cannot volunteer and just not be paid. The I765 is a work permit, not a be paid for work permit. If she is doing work at the company or at home for the company then CIS will not care if she is being...
I have a pretty similar timeline, applied in August 2004 and get exactly the same letter you do each time I call. A lawyer I spoke with last year suggested I wait a little longer yet. He said that with less than three years waiting I would still be borderline as far as legally forcing CIS to do...
Filed AP renewal online on July 19th. The new AP was mailed to me on the 31st and I already have it in my hand. Its my quickest one yet, probably because its the first year I actually applied with more then three months to go before I needed it. Sod's law really.
Still waiting
Its been a while so I thought I would check in and see how many other long pending namecheck people are here.
A quick update on me, filed in August 2004, interview in January 2005, pending since then. Have written repeatedly to my congresswoman, both senators, CIS ombudsman and...
I wouldn't say its a new rule, I have sent pictures every year. The specific requirements for your application will vary with your AoS status (ie employment, family etc etc).
Congratulations with getting a good result. Hopefully they can also get something done with your AoS. Unfortunately my senator has absolutely no interest at all in being of any help.
Went for my InfoPass yesterday and the officer told me it was approved on the 25th, the same I was told by my congresswoman. He also told me that the card was currently being produced. However it is now six days later and my online status has not changed. This despite the fact that my LUD...
I would think that USCIS will let you if there is a problem with where you filed the application. The chances are that it will be processed just as easily at MSC. Have you got your receipt yet? If they did not send an RFE or other letter at that time then I would say you have nothing to worry about.
Once she has the GC she will just use that in conjunction with her Colombian passport to come and go through immigration. She is not a US citizen so does not get a US passport.
Sounds like you already have two perfectly valid reasons to be here legally, H1 and pending I485. You have nothing to worry about, the reentry I94 is just a formality.
USCIS have always recommended applying for AP at least 90 days before you travel which you have done so it should come in time. It sounds like your H1 is valid on your way out but will have expired before you come back. Based on that you will need to be carrying your aproved AP at the airport in...
I think they can give a conditional GC whenever they want to although the usual rule is 2 years of marriage. If you have been issued the conditional card then I think there is nothing you can do to change that now.
Of course I could be entirely wrong, hopefully someone else will know more.
Hassan, are you sure you spoke with an immigration officer because the regular customer service agents can also send this status request. Unfortunately in my experience the status request doesn't carry a lot of weight. I have had a lot of trouble getting the customer service people to connect me...
