Thanks. Now, a friend of mine states that the newborn baby needs to be physically present at the post office where we apply. Is that true?
What documents from parents are needed? Just driver's license, or green cards? They just mention ID.
Are the photo requirements somewhat relaxed in any way for a new born infant when applying for US passport? Size of image from chin to top of head between 1 and 1 3/8 inches ? Eyes open?
For a baby born in the US, I assume that one has to wait for the social security number before appling for a US passport?
Normally how long does it take to get the social security number when applied during the birth certificate process?

Took only about two and half months, and I am honestly skeptical about this. I'll wait for the actual approval notice in the mail.
Received my H1B stamp.
The photo is quite dark, but I dont think I am going to bother. I think they might anyway have the photo on the computer at the POE?

I am on H1B and my spouse is on her separate H1B. We plan to travel and re-enter in Nov, by which time we hope to get our AP and EAD - based on my I-485 and she is a derivative.
Now my question is, can I enter using my H1B stamp and valid approval notice, while my spouse enters on her AP...
I had looked at the past three month's trackers. I could only find queries regarding when you came to the US, how to mention previous visas, how long one has stayed etc. But I do not know whether to leave other surnames blank or write none. With electronic forms, a computer could easily assume...
Thanks. The instructions only state all questions must be answered. They dont state write "none" etc. Where do they state print back to back?
I think you are looking at Chennai or other consulates, whereas I am referring to Dept of State revalidation (http://travel.state.gov/hlop.html). Could...

Are there any difficulties in getting an H4 visa stamp if the person is a medical doctor and reveals that on her DS156 application. Generally I am told that the consulates in India deny visas for doctors, but I am not sure if that is true even for dependent H4 visas. Any prior experience or...
