Hello ara,
Good to hear from you. I am fine. Visit this site once in a while. As you may have discovered, life pretty much remains the same after gc!
Re: Shouldn\'t be a problem.
First, the consular officer is only concerned about your *future* salary, i.e., salary that the sponsoring company will pay you after you immigrate. If your HR can provide you with an employment letter that indicates their willingness to pay you the LC salary...
Re: Checking case status at NVC
Unlike INS (for LC & 140), NVC does talk to the beneficiary. So, feel free to call them about your case. Of course, if an issue arises that requires action on your part, be sure to work with your lawyer. Also, calling NVC often will not expedite your...
Re: toasterbiscuit
First, the answer to your question: yes, it is possible to work for a consulting company based on the east coast, while maintaining a home and client location in CA. Many large companies, especially consulting firms, centralize immigration processing for their employees, and...
Savings for "retirement" in India?
Fellow posters, could someone (perhaps Fortune100) please tells us what kind of savings would be needed to retire (read: not work in a hectic manner) in India?
What are the estimates for basic expenses? (I\'m sure they have changed significantly since I...
Consider a Returning Resident Permit

2.Was your salary over LC salary at the time of adjudication / CP interview? If so, was it an issue?
3. Was the salary reduction specific to you or a firm-wide...
Keep the card
First, there is no hassle at POE if her (valid) passport has the GC stamp and the passport does not appear to be altered or tampered with. The GC stamp is not intended to be the exclusive indicator of her permanent residence in the US and merely provides a reference to her record...
Re: thumor

2. If you have been contributing Social Security taxes, it...
What\'s the "hassle"?
Just wondering why getting a new Social Security card is such a "hassle", other than spending about 45 minutes in the SSA office?
First, getting a new Social Security card is absolutely free. Second, you retain your old number. Third, you get the new card in...
Re Padaiyappa
Your packets are fine. The consulate cut them that way. Mine were similarly cut. (I consular processed in Montreal and collected my packets directly from a consular officer.)
