Received all 4 passports today. No issue with Birth Certificate.. Online status did not change since "Application Received". Mailman left all 4 packets on the door.

You don't need to goto SS office to check whether your Citizenship Status was uodated , Just call SS's 1-800# and they should be able to tell you. I called and they told me "not updated".

Richmondva, I don't think your passport got processed in DC processing center as it services DC ,MD and few adjoining VA counties only... That probably explains why you got faster

Hi Cpzinga, Did you receive your daughter's passport ? We also applied around the same time(9/30) as you have done for your daughter . Status not updated since the first one with Application locator. Looks like our agency is same (DC)

I had a chat with rep on SS.GOV 1-800 # . They told me that when we apply for update SSN with citizenship info , they send it to DHS for verification. The time taken is dependent upon how much time it takes for DHS to respond back to them. As per them 6-8 weeks is normal. They also said SS...

aubonpain, No pun intended, but you seem to be a very optimistic person. Travel without a passport to India , as if they will allow you to enter, just because you have US Nat cert, and also entering US without a passport, just with Nat. Cert, seems impossible. You should get an appointment...

Tiranga008, Getting a BC from Indian Consulate/Embassy based on Passport seems to work. I think we should go ahead and do that as well.. -d4pk
