please stop giving bad advise.
the poster has stated that her parents overstayed their tourist visas. they would be subject to an automatic 10 year ban. that is an issue.
your parents were subject to a 10 year ban the minute they overstayed a year past the date stamped on their i-94...
a co-worker has been together with his girlfriend for a number of years. she's a nice girl, is about to graduate from college and seems responsible. recently he's been talking about saving up for an engagement ring. since the talks have become more serious -- he's contacted another friend of...
when you purchase an international travel ticket FROM the usa you have to punch in your gc#. the people at the counter and at the gate ask to see your passport and gc to verify the number.
ok, that changes things. I'm not familiar with the details of the DORA program (there are posts here that detail it better) that covers the dallas area, but I believe that you have an immediate interview the day you turn in your packet.
yes, absolutely. one can have multiple petitions filed on their behalf. at the very least you should have both of your parents file for him as in the event of death a case cannot be transfered from a deceased parent to the surviving one.
he should go back home to ecuador and wait for his PD to become current after his parents and you file an I-130. which could take up to 10 years. unless currently there is something similar in the law like the 245(i) he cannot overstay his tourist visa.

as of june 2007 there are visa numbers available for I-130 priority dates from december 1997. your brother is looking at a 6-8...
my attorney submitted my upgrade request with my AOS packet. my I-130 hadn't been approved at the time of the upgrade/aos filing. turns out it was missing from my file, and I had to fill out a new one at the interview.
do not assume that he doesn't have to go because the letter doesn't state it. if he isn't required to be present, fine he waits for you in the waiting area. if you show up without him and the IO has to cancel the interview you are going to be screwed and complicate the process.
you may not...
I'm an adult and my interview notice stated that my petitioner had to be present (father). good thing he was there because they had lost my I-130 and we had to fill a new one out at the IO's desk. don't take any chances, take your parent with you.
