How can he find out if it HAS in fact been cancelled? The reason he is concerned is because of increased audits of H1-B employers and even though he has not done anything wrong, if the audit comes up with something on the employer, then he may get caught up unneccessarily in a mess...

A friend of miine recently got his GC through a family based petition. Prior to that he was on a H-1B visa. Does the H-1B get cancelled automatically? If not, is it as simple as writing a letter to USCIS asking them to cancel the H-1B?

Finito! Just wanted to update the thread with the outcome. My wife postponed her oath scheduled for 7/23. She got the letter with her new oath date on 7/20. The oath was scheduled for 8/13. Went just fine. She's happy she decided to go to the wedding.

Are 2nd level IO's able to schedule interviews? How about oaths? My wife tried to reschedule her oath by calling the 1-800 # but they said she has to mail it in or use the drop box at Irving center.

The return address on the envelope is the NBC in Missouri, but I called the 1-800 # twice and both times they said to mail it to DO. McTavish: The letter does not give any instructions on WHERE to send it to, it just says to retuen it as soon as possible.

There's one everyday in Irving, Dallas. In fact twice a day. But I think they send the Nat. Cert.s to be printed ahead of time(IO told my wife she will need new photos because her photos are already used up on the Nat. Cert. sent off to Print) and it shows the date of the oath/Naturalization...

My preference for Option#2 is that - in person, there's less chance of USCIS misplacing the file or getting lost in a stack of rubble. Has anyone currently in this forum requested an Oath Delay? Please post your experiences.
