You are still a Canadian citizen so you will have to apply for a Canadian passport. Us passports are only for US citizens.

I never got "card mailed" email, only approval notice . My husband did receive card ordered, card mailed but no approval notice. We both received our cards and approval notices in the mail on the same day. So CONGRATS! I am sure card is on its way!

Can you ask the lawyers in your area to recommend someone? Usually lawyers will have these type of "expert" contacts. Or maybe even call some of the bigger accounting firms and see if they have any experience in these type of cases or maybe know of someone who might. Sorry I am not much help...

I think you should apply for a new ss card. This is the advised I received from the officer at the SSA. It will have the same number but without "not authorized to work". Some employers will want to see it/ get a copy of it and you will not have the hassle of proving that you can work legally...

I don't think you have any other options.It has to be H1B or EAD to legaly work a second job. Would be interesting to hear from others what options you have.

Yes, from what I was told by the lawyer, your H1B only gives you permission to work for the sponsoring employer... which means you can't work for anyone else, not even yourself (ie: a self employed bussiness). If you have EAD, you can get a second job and not need a H1B Annie88

Shovan, Yes there will be an LUD that an Rfe was sent out. We found out about ours on line and had the lawyer looking out for it. Took us two wks to actually receive it.There will be another LUD when they get the response too. They will also do random LUDs without message change... maybe...
