Is this incidence going to pose any problem when they do the same next year?? Can the IO cancel their GC next time? Can they be deported back next time? Also, can this complicate things when they apply for citizenship later...
One of my close friend parents just came from their home country after a 4 and half month stay. They got their GCs sometime in February 2012. After they landed in US at JFK airport they were asked the following:
1) IO: Why did you stayed for over 4 months?
parents reply: for health reasons...
Normally, depending upon their seating capacity and the number of people that are there on their oath ceremony list, they do allow for reasonable number of guests during the oath ceremony.
My wife also had a name change done... but just the last name. From what I understand the name change should not effect your processing. You should be receiving your oath ceremony notice shortly.
You should try and find out if there are oath ceremonies conducted in your local district court...
We have our oath ceremony tomorrow... just have one question to ask.
The oath ceremony notice ask us to bring: Any other Immigration Documents you may have in your possession.

You would have been alright if you would have disclosed the ticket info at the time of your interview.. but since it seems like you did not discussed your ticket at time of interview you have put your case at risk... for no apparent reason. I did not disclosed my traffic tickets on the N-400...
