Local police clearence needed for filing I-485?

My parents have been here in the US for three years. For filing I-485, do they need to get police clearence from our local police department for the time in the US? or not a concern at all since they will have finger prints taken for FBI clearence later on?

Unless specifically asked to do so, no I-485 applicant needs to provide police certificates. Just curious, what status were your folks on for the last 3 years?
