Working at Canada while the application is in the pipeline in Buffalo

If I get a job offer from canada employer (but my immigration application is in the pipeline in Buffalo), can I keep continue my application or I need to change Buffalo office to somewhere within Canada ? Or my application will be invalid ?

If not, is it possible for applying canada PR when you are working in canada (just like in US H1 holders can apply for green card) ?
