If I work for a foreign company and also work physically in this foreign country, and pay my taxes in this foreign country, but have my residence in the USA and spend my time off in the USA. Do I risk anything as far as my PRC?

From what you presented, it sounds like you're putting your pr status at risk. As a matter of fact, it is possible that you already lost your pr status unless you applied for a re-entry permit.

In order to maintain your permanent resident status, you need to work in the US, make your primary residence in this country, and of course pay US taxes. Traveling back to the US for a short trip once every few months in an attempt to keep your green card "alive" will not work.
