Hi,
I am currently on H1b visa.I work from office 2 days a week and rest i work from home. Also I live in one state and work in another state.I am paying taxes for the state where i live.
So will this situation affect GC processing? My employer is hesitating to do GC for me because their lawyer has said that there will be too much complication in such case.
Can anyone please explain me if there will be complication and if so what are those?

Thanks in advance.

Even though you work from home or travel extensively, actual job requirements profile should be set up from where employer is headquartered. Paying personal income taxes depends from what source state you derived income from. Lets say your client is in CA and you provided services to that client in CA while sitting in some other state example NY. Then this is CA source income. You would file CA non resident income tax return and pay tax and file NY resident and take tax credit on income taxes in NY for taxes paid in CA. I hope I was able to explain you.
