will old ppt address effect H1 extn

Hello,

I am on an H1B visa in US and my first 3 year visa gets expired on Oct 2005. I am going to India in May for a short time and come back to US. I want to apply for my visa extension once I come back.
The Residential address(Indian address) in my passport is my old address of India. Is it necessary to have the latest Indian address in passport for applying an H1 Visa extension?
Can any one help me on this?
