I485 pending, I want to apply EAD card for myself. I will use EAD, if approved, and lose my H1 status. So my wife will be off H4, what is her status then ?

Did u not apply or include your wife in ur I-485. If you have not included then I recommend u to start the paperwork and apply I-485 on her behalf so that after the stipulated time u can even take EAD for her and also could protect her status.
What I came to know is once u have applied for ur wife, then no matter ur green card is approved technically she lost the H-4 status but she is still legal becauce her I-485 is pending. Hope this helps and I recommend you to consult a lawyer before u commit anything
