What is counsular processing for H1B?

Hi,

I'm new to H1B processing. My wife is in India with H1B petition. I have an approved H1B petition and in India. When enquired about transfer of her visa, I heard it will be a councular process. Can somebody please explain what is councular process?

Also is this the right method?

There is no such thing as consular process for H1B. All the application will be processed at USCIS in the US.
Ask the employer and lawyer who take care of your and your wife's H1B.
