What happens if my J1 Visa gets refused in Toronto???

Can you tell me what happens if my J1 Visa gets refused in Toronto.... will I be able to return back into the US

I don't have a valid stamp, I am currently on a J1 Status...

hi,
i know someone who got refused a J1 visa in toronto, had her valid F1 cancelled and she was sent back to russia. she is still struggling to find out why that happened. i was told by INS ( pre 9/11) that one should apply for the J1 visa only from their home country.check with them if you can apply for a J1 in toronto.
