I have filed my perm on April 2006 and back then you have to mail in your applications (Not electronic). I sent it via certified mail and i got my certified mail receipt and didnt get any application number. I have been calling my lawyer ever since making follow ups and they keep on telling me that they did made follow ups but they dont hear anything back. They also said that there is a backlog.
My sixth year h1b visa expired Jan.2009 and i was able to file a 1 year extension before it expired . INS mailed a letter today telling me that they need other proof other than the certified mail receipt. Does anybody else know what else can i present.
Also, once i send the supporting docs to the INS, should i find another lawyer who can handle refile my perm ( My current lawyer doesnt seem to be aggressive) just to save time , and hoping again that they do extend my 1 year visa.
