Latest I-485 scans

For those of you who don't know about this, nemessis has put together a database of 16000+ I-485 cases with notice dates between 10/01/02 and 09/10/03 which can be scanned periodically to see the latest case status (FP received, approved etc.).

IMO, this, combined with the various trackers (2003: http://immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?p=949831#post949831 2004: http://immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?p=949957#post949957) and rupnet (http://www.rupnet.com/immigration/reports/approvaltrack.asp?place=100&predefined=1&mplace=1) really helps to see what the VSC is really up to.

Update 12/03/04: since this thread has been made into a sticky, we'll just post scans here from now on. This will make the scans more visible (they won't be buried in the tracker sub-forum which has become fairly obsolete at this point) and we'll no longer have to update 2 threads every time there is new data).

The old scans will still be available at http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?p=949824#post949824 for anyone who wants to access those.

Guys,

Is it possible to include for entire month of November 2003 in your scan? In case there is some technical difficulty in doing that then could you please point me to right direction to do the same.

Thanks,

Thanks,

This isn't easy.

First you need to find the I-485 case numbers. This is usually done by scanning all the cases in a range of about 5000 numbers for each day (e.g. using the Excel macro which is available in other threads). The problem is that you are limited to 200 scans / 24 hour period from a given IP (otherwise your IP is blocked for 1-3 days). In my case, I only have 1 IP and it took me about 3 weeks to find about half of the cases for a single day only... Apparently there are ways to set up proxy IPs and some people can reset their IP depending on their ISP but otherwise, this is a very time consuming process.

Once you've identified the cases, then you can rescan those periodically to look for updates. Again, this could take (# cases)/200 days to do unless you have some way of setting up / accessing multiple IPs.

How do I find out if my case has been approved by using the scan? I have tried the online status check but I am looking for any other method to check the status. May be through this scan? My I-485 case number starts with EAC0227650***

Thanks in advance.

Almost. The scans that nemessis is doing (for dates 1 week apart over a 12+ month span) include 11/07/02 (EAC03030XXXXX). The statistics for that date will probably be pretty relevant for 11/05/02 cases overall. Look at the last 2 spreadsheets that nemessis posted in the thread that I directed people to (he didn't scan that date in the most recent update so the %Completed stayed stuck at 54.52%).

Are we doing scanning properly for Nov? My EAC number is EAC04034XXXXX ? while the numbering in the spread sheet 11_1-_2004 goes upto EAC03-250.
I don't completely understand the number schema of EAC. I did the scan using the spreadsheet and I got 20 I-485s between EAC0403451000 EAC0403451200.

The highest EAC is about 0X-260 or so (I'm probably off by a bit). I believe this accounts for the number of working days in the fiscal year (which starts on October 1st every year so a case from 10/01/03 would have EAC04001XXXXX.

A November EAC should be in the range around 0X025XXXXX to 0X045XXXXX or so (my 10/23/03 case #'s start with 04016XXXXX).

Does this help -- I wasn't sure exactly what you were referring to...

Finding 20 I-485 cases per 200 sounds about right -- a single day (5000+ cases can have 500+ cases).

I tried a fair number of scan tools here and ran into issues like the ones some have posted here. Finally, I ended up writing one. It's mostly designed to making life easier for lazy people like me. It's evolved a bit in the last month or so, so it should be generally quite stable now.

The latest version of the scanner will be in the first post of this thread:
http://immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=149042&page=1

If you indeed plan to switch, let me know (at the above thread), I can probably add support to import excel case status spreadsheets.

FYI, immigrationwatch.com just updated their recent approvals list for the VSC: http://www.immigrationwatch.com/ (click on "How is USCIS doing recently" link -> I-485 -> Vermont).

The update shows approvals between ~ 10/25/04 and 11/13/04.

+9 2004 cases approved in the last ~2 weeks including one with a RD of 04/07/04!

+52 June 03 cases approved

+35 July 03 cases approved

+15 Aug 03 cases approved

+6 Sep-Dec 03 cases approved in the last 3 weeks (so more 2004 activity recently than for those 4 months combined)...

+96 2002 approvals (out of 344 total -- most are from 2003)

+decent activity in all months of 2003 (20-30 or so cases approved for each of Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr)

+doesn't appear to show transfers (which are probably 50% of all cases these days...)
