Unemployment and GC

A friend of mine was kicked off/layed off his new job, which he worked barely for 35 days. (He was employed before that for 5 years with another company)
He has GC. Can he file unemployment? If so, how much can he get every month. Please let me know.

Can he file unemployment?

Yes. Many states do not give unemployment benefit if the employee was fired/discharged due to misconduct. However, employee can file (and appeal if refused) for benefit anyway.

If so, how much can he get every month.

Every state has its unemployment benefit plans and their own way to calculate the amount. Ask him to check website for his/her state's employment development department.
