Type of visa for person of indian origin

I will be traveling to India in May and it looks like it is too close to apply for an OCI. From reading the bls website it looks like I can apply for an entry visa or a tourist visa. I was thinking of applying for a tourist visa, but then I saw some posts here which seem to indicate that most people are applying for an entry visa. The tourist visa seems to be less expensive -- why are you guys applying for an entry visa?

The entry visa lets you stay in the country for the duration of the visa, but if you're going to apply for OCI after the trip, just get the cheapest tourist visa.

Thanks for the clarification. Since we are going for a month trip, a tourist visa seems to be the right one.
