traveling back to home country within a month or two apart

my sister plans to go back home for a month, and then fly back with our dad to visit me and travel here for a month or so. she will then accompany dad back home again and stay there a while before coming back to the US.

1. will there be any problem with her status going out of the country two times close to each other within the first year of LPR status? does she have to do anything before she leaves?

2. our dad has a 10-year tourist visa to be expired in july 2015. he has never traveled before, so should there be a problem with him entering the country with a daughter with LPR status? and is the visa still valid 6-7 months before it expires? (he plans to arrive here by mid december to celebrate christmas and new year with us) or should he apply for a new visa?

thanks!

She should be ok with two trips.
And yes of course your dad's visa is still valid before it expires...
And yes he may get some questions entering with his LPR daughter. Make sure he can show CBP officials that he has ties to go back home- employer letter/business/property etc.
