time it takes to get h1-transfer reciept notice

hello

I am working for a consulting company on H1. Other company is willing to sponsor my h1 and have applied h1 transfer. The attorney submitted papers for my h1 transfer on September 1, 2006. I am not in contact with the attorney. The company HR told me that I cannot start my work until they receive H1 transfer reciept notice.

Can some one tell me how long it would take to get the H1 transfer receipt notice when applied from California? It is through normal process.

your help will be highly appreciated...

I am also in a similar situation. I work for consulting company and the new employer is a well reputed firm who applied for my H1B tranfer. It was done on september 20th(normal processing) and I was wondering when I would get the
receipt. Some of my friends have got receipts in 1.5 to 2 weeks time frame....
