Time from Re-etnry permit application to fingerprinting

I am planning to apply for my third re-entry permit. I understand it might not be approved. I am outside of the U.S. I plan to come to the US to file the application and have have the fingerprinting done. In the past, I was able to get this process done in 2 weeks. That is what I was planning on now, as I need to return to where I am now, for the start of new school semester or shortly thereafter. Please share any recent experiences (within last year) or information as to how long it takes to get the fingerprinting appointment with expediting request.

My attorney just told me that I am not likely to get the fingerprinting appointment done so quickly.

Any information would be appreciated!

That was not long ago.
It depends on how busy the local office is. Some people were lucky enough to walk in, and got FP done, esp. in the afternoon, but need an INFOPASS appointment online ahead of time.
