Hi, I am a Singaporean citizen who just got a job in the US, and I will be applying for a H1B1 (not H1B) visa. I will be traveling to Greece and Italy on their Visa Waiver Program (Singaporeans get 90 days VWP in those countries) and would like to apply for my H1B1 in the US consulates there. It's pretty inconvenient for me to go back to Singapore at the moment (need to change flights, etc). I was wondering if anyone know if I could do this? I heard that some embassies may reject you outright if you are just on a tourist visa.
I've called the Greek side (I think I reached the visa scheduling body, not the embassy itself)--who said it should be allowed. I couldn't contact the Italian side.
Anyone with experience in this? Thank you!
