Congratulations to all who have won the DV-2015. Now that you have won the lottery it is not over yet, as you have to undergo verifications and you need to pass in it. If you failed in the verification process you won’t get the green card even if you are a winner.

I would tell you what the American verification process is.

First of all it would be done in coordination with the local staff at the American Embassy in your home country. The white American guys are heavily dependent on the local people they hire. They can’t move a step without them. For example if a white American guy is going somewhere with a driver and he says to him “turn left” the driver wouldn’t have a clue about what he is saying so he need a local person to accompany him to give instructions to the driver in the local language. So they are crippled in this sense.

Now for the verification purposes after you have won the green card there are many aspects of it. First of all they would listen to all the phone conversations you make. There are two ways of doing this, one is that they go to the police or the governmental agency in your country and request them to tape your phone. However in majority of the case they won’t do that, instead they would go to the mobile phone company whose services you are using and bribe them some money and ask them to tape all the calls that you make and receive on a daily basis and give them that on a CD every day. By doing so they would know what nature of a person you are and who your close friends are. Of course you would be speaking in your own local language to translate that in English that they again would get the help of local people employed by the American Embassy in your home country.

Not only they can tape you phone, they can also look at your contact list to know who are your friends. Moreover, they can also read the text messages you have sent or received so they get information about you.

Secondly, they would read all the e-mails that you sent or receive. By doing so they would get the back ground information about you. Now most probably you would have an e-mail account of yahoo or hotmail or Google- all are American based. So it is not difficult for them to access your account.

Now the third part is actual physical contact. After they have listened to your phone conversations, read the text messages you sent or received and read all incoming or outgoing e-mails, they would have known who are your close friends or relatives are. Do they will actually go to them to get reports on you!

And this would be done again by the local staff at the American Embassy in your home country. So watch out for a big white car coming to your neighbors or friends’ homes with some local appearing persons sitting in them. They most probably would have come from the American embassy to get reports on you.

So this is how the American Verification system works in a nutshell. This is really bull shit.

They do like that for the DV visas and even for family based petitions. If your father is US citizen and has petitioned for you and you are based in Kenya. You most probably would have to go under above mentioned verification process.

What a load of bollocks.
For starters, what does the "white American" do with his driver in the case where (a) the American is actually black, Arab, Indian etc... (b) he is in a white country?

Yes, they do background checks. Yes, they cross-check the information you give on the entry and application forms with various agencies etc. Yes, if they are suspicious of a green card marriage they may send someone out to go talk to the neighbours of the address given by the married couple. They are handing out immigrant visas after all, do you really expect them to take everything you say at face value?

But reading your emails and tapping your mobile phone? Going out to talk to your friends to get "reports" on you? (I guarantee you my friends would have told me :D ). I'm afraid your paranoia is probably getting the best of you, my friend. (Alternatively, according to Edward Snowden they probably read everyone's emails anyway, not just DV winners ...) Almost entertaining, but a bit too earnestly paranoid for that. As is your appeal to the "freedom of speech act" (what? where? best you tell the Chinese, Russians etc about this "freedom of speech act" that applies to the internet) - are you really scared the Americans are going to come and shut down your little post because they're scared of it? All this says a lot more about wherever you are from that you fear the state security apparatus that much.
