The vfs website defines State of Residence as "If you are a resident of India, you are required to select your current ‘State of Residence’ where you have been residing for the past six months or longer."
Well, I have been in the US on a F1 for the last 3 years, so the above doesnt apply for me. It does not apply for my immediate family as well because they havent been living in India for the past 1.5 years. My native state is Andhra Pradesh, but most of my schooling and College was done in Tamil Nadu and our family lived there for a long time.
I wanted to know if I can get an appointment for H1B stamping at the Chennai consulate? Or should I be going to the Hyderabad consulate to get the stamping as Andhra is my native state?
