dear all,
When I got married my husband was a green card holder. Now he has become a US citizen. Before he became a citizenship, he filed the I-130 petition form for me. I am in Student visa(F1). Could anyone know what do i need to do to apply an workpermit and Green Card.

thanks

You need to file for EAD and await approval. As far as conversion from a PR sponsor to a USC sponsor, you need to submit the naturalization certificate.

One addition

You will submit a copy of the Naturalization certificate, NOT the original. Even though it is normally illegal to copy a Naturalization certificate, for this purpose, its is legal. Regards to all. Rajiv.

file another I-130 w/I-485

The best way to do it is to file another I-130. With the I-130, you should also file I-485, I-765 (work permit) and I-129 (advance parole) if needed. Amend with citizen certificate will not do much help to get your working permit.

similar situation

I am in a similar situation.

My husband was permanent resident when we filed my I130 in Feb 2001.
Now he is US citizen.

My question: Where do we send the certificate of Naturalization?...to Vermont or local Newark office.

Is it worth sending totally new application I130?

Thanks
Sudha
