Should i include an explanation when applying under 4 yr 1 day rule?

I am about to submit my n-400 citizenship application. Should I include a letter explaining that i am applying under the 4 yr 1 day rule?

I was out on Oct 2008 and came back Sept 2010nwith a re entry permit. The thing is the re entry permit is not with me anymore I think i handed it to the airport official when i came back.

I think you put it in the first page of the N400 where it asks you under which rule you're applying (choose OTHER and write '4 year 1 day'.
