Question about refugee travel doucment

Hello everyone I have a question i need to know if the RTD is scannable or not when the airlines agent at the airport while I am checking in see my RTD and scan it will he give me a hard time or everything will be good ?!! especially I am traveling with Turkish airlines to Germany next month and as well I need to know if the passport control in Germany they have an idea about the RTD ? , one last question I will be only staying in Berlin for 2 weeks then on way back I will go through the passport control in JFK i go through the us citizens and permanent residents line not the "visitors " line correct ? And I know I will need to go to the inspection room to get the stamp for the asylee on my RTD but anything else expected?!! Thanks

Yes, it is a modern document, and Germany doesn't even require a visa when you use an RTD. The airline will likely wonder what it is, but a supervisor should be able to help you. I recommend you send the German embassy an email to confirm that you don't need a visa for Germany. You can also just print this page: http://www.germany.info/Vertretung/usa/en/03__Consulates/Los__Angeles/03/Visa__Procedure.html

This is a document to show the airline if they doubt your RTD will allow re-entry to the US: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default...06 Archive News/Asylee_travel_information.pdf

When you come back, just don't get into the visitors queue. Use whichever non-visitor queue fits you best. I don't know if you can use the automated passport control kiosks with the RTD. It's also not necessarily a rule that you will have to go to secondary inspection - I never did.
