overseas assignment with green card?

I've recently got my green card (employer sponsored) at end October 02...I have an opportunity to work overseas for the same sponsoring employer in the coming months...first of all can I make such a move? to recap, same company is offering me a job overseas...if so any implications on my green card? any ideas/advice would be appreciated...thanks...

Working of Forign assignment with GC

As far as I know you are required to come back before 12 months to manitain you GC status.

I am going through same process as I have been assigend to far east. My lawyer have told me that as long as you file US forgin taxes and stay on US payroll you should be fine. I am not sure where can I find more info on this.

In my compnay there are many such cases.

Pls advice.
