If anybody can give an interpretation for this line from the Naturalization requirements, it will be greatly appreciated:

* has been physically present in the United States for at least 30 months out of the previous five years (absences of more than six months but less than one year shall disrupt the applicant's continuity of residence unless the applicant can establish that he or she did not abandon his or her residence during such period)

It says that you can't have lived outside for longer than 6 months. But there is also a clause that allows a less than 12 months stay abroad if one did not abandon residence.

Is having GC and all its requirements, US employer, filing US
taxes, re-entry permit etc suffice to show that one has not abandoned residence?
What are the chances of the "less than one year" clause being considered for N400

Thank you.

I would say, logically, you should have had a compelling reason to stay outside US for more that 6 months. If you did have such and can show evidence of that reason, then I think you aren't considored to have abandoned your GC.
