Mum a GC - When to Apply for Citizenship

Hi everyone,

So, i am trying to figure out when my mother can apply for citizenship.
  • Arrived in the U.S - apr 26th, 2012 Left Sep 12th, 2012
  • Arrived in the U.S - Jul 2nd, 2013 - Left March 12th, 2014 -- out of the country for 10 months
  • Arrived in the U.S - April 12th, 2014 ----she has not left the country.
When can she apply for citizenship?.

Did she have a re-entry permit for the 10-month absence? It might not be a problem, but the permit helps for absences over 6 months. However, she probably hadn't yet established enough ties to the US before that 10-month absence, so my recommendation, to avoid a denial for breaking continuous residency, would be to apply 4 years plus 1 day (plus a couple of weeks as a buffer) after she returned from the 10-month trip, so March 2018 (there is no pre-applying 90 days prior for this rule).
