I had my H1B visa till September 24th and recently I received my LPR, my child received the LPR but my wife's status is pending and she has a EAD/AP card. On our vacation in India, my wife lost her EAD/AP card and there is no way to obtain any temporary document here to return to US. Only way is to apply with USCIS and it may take long time to get a duplicate EAD/AP card. My wife's H4 status is also valid till 09/24/2014. Neither me or my wife never had a valid visa stamp in our passport for the current H visa.
Can my wife apply for a H4 visa stamp at US consulate, Chennai and travel to US without any problem? Will she even get a H4 visa to travel? Please help with your valid suggestions as it is a very emergency situation for us. Thanks a lot...
