I am currently working in US on L1B visa, valid till Nov 2014 & my company has filed for H1B Change of Status CAP petion, which has been picked in lottery and is in initial review status with USCIS. There is an urgent requirement from my client to travel to Belgium for 3 weeks during Aug 2014 on Schengen business visa, I would like to know if leaving the USA for 3 weeks will do any harm on the current H1B petion? Can I leave the country and come back on L1B itself or Do I need to get H1 stamping on any US Consulate in India or any other Location to enter back to US. Please advise.
