if i go as a dependent for l1 visa holder at the same time can i apply for h1b ?

can i have both the visas.

will my h1b valid though i stay as a dependent for l1 visa holder?

One can have 2 visas(if one of those was not cancelled at consulate), but not 2 status' at the same time.
If you were dependent of L1, you must be L2. If you want to be H1, you are supposed to stay in the US as independent H1.
