The person I am writing about entered the U.S. legally about 17 years ago on a J-1 visa, but did not go back home for the two year residency requirement, and has overstayed the visa here. I'm wondering if the new legislation talks with this Z visa would help this person out? The individual is married to a U.S. citizen, and has children here. I am hoping the best for this family, and would like to help however I can. Any advice or information would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
