but can you tell me what is I-797C

is I-140 approved work permit ?
 
797C is just a form, notification form. Those numbers are not important.
I-140 is not a work permit. It is immigrant petition, which allows your employer to hire you permanetly. But you have to adjust your status before you start working on permanent basis. I-485 is a key. Once you file that, you can get a work permit. If it is approved, you are set!
