The I-485, part 3C, question 6:
Have you EVER been a member of, or in any way affiliated with, the Communist Party or any other totalitarian party?
I'm a US citizen. My father is 70yrs. old, from formal USSR, was a member of the communist party between 1983-1991. The communist party of the soviet union (CPSU) ceased to exist in 1991. Please advise how this should be treated.

To put "yes" in the box is the only intention. He will not lie about it. The question I asked is that given a fact that the answer is "yes" , is there anything else needs to be written, provided, explained, or otherwise mentioned at time of the filling of i-485? Is the fact of his past membership in the CP, a reason for a rejection of his AOS application?
